Spotlight on Africa

We’ve joined forces with the National Chamber for Italian Fashion, Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana, to create a film spotlighting fashion’ s brightest rising stars.

For 25 years, as part of its commitment to advancing a sustainable fashion industry, The Bicester Village Shopping Collection has helped emerging designers realise their creative and commercial potential. This month we’ve partnered with Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana (CNMI) to create a space at Milan Fashion Week dedicated to rising stars from Africa – and a film, ‘Inspired by Night’, featuring the work of some of these exceptional talents.

The 2020 Fashion Market Hub – the CNMI’s dynamic platform for emerging designers at Milan Fashion Week – will feature five up-and-coming designers who are reasserting the powerful identity of African fashion. Selected by Sara Sozzani Maino, head of Vogue Talents, Thebe Magugu (the first-ever African winner of the LVMH Prize), Maison ARTC, Omer Asim, Gozel Green and Studio 189 will all present their collections in the Fashion Market Hub’s ‘Africa Now’ showcase.

All five designers will also participate in The Bicester Village Shopping Collection Mentorship Programme, a 12-month programme of tailormade masterclasses, as well as enjoy the opportunity to display their cutting-edge creations alongside those of the titans of fashion.

Look out for designs by Thebe Magugu and Maison ARTC in our film 'Insipired by Night' as the models explore Fidenza Village at night…
