Sacré-Cœur Basilica, Paris

Located at the summit of the Butte Montmartre, the highest point in the city of Paris, and just over an hour from La Vallée Village, the Sacré-Cœur Basilica is a Roman Catholic church and minor basilica, designed by Paul Abadie, and completed by a further six architects who succeeded him. Gaze up at its large stone domes and out towards its majestic views before venturing inside to discover beautiful mosaics, stained glass windows and a grand organ.

Fidenza Cathedral, Fidenza

Feast your eyes on ornate sculptures, carvings and Romanesque architecture at Fidenza Cathedral, sitting just 10 minutes from Fidenza Village. Built during the Middle Ages, this special spot a once acted as a stopping place for pilgrims along the Via Francigena – an ancient road and pilgrimage route running from Canterbury in England to Italy via France and Switzerland. Today, it makes for the perfect way to experience a piece of historic northern Italy.

New Castle, Ingolstadt

Sitting in the heart of Ingolstadt, New Castle is one of Bavaria’s most important fifteenth-century Gothic secular buildings. Constructed in 1490, its enchanting red roofs and ivory-hued walls give this place a fairy tale feel, while tranquil views of the Danube river make it a great spot to take in the beauty of the surrounding area. Just 10 minutes away from Ingolstadt Village, this medieval city landmark is well worth a visit.

Castletown House, County Kildare

Set among beautiful eighteenth-century parklands on the banks of the River Liffey, this Palladian house was built in 1722 for William Conolly, the Speaker of the Irish House of Commons, and is considered an important part of Ireland’s architectural heritage. Get ready to marvel at its collection of paintings and furniture before taking a gentle wander through its biodiverse garden – Kildare Village is just 45 minutes away when you’re ready for dinner.

Blenheim Palace, Oxfordshire

Experience the wonders of theatrical Baroque architecture at Blenheim Palace. Set in the beautiful Oxfordshire countryside, this 300-year old World Heritage Site is located just over 20 minutes from Bicester Village, and features all the grandeur and drama associated with this style of architecture. Wander through its elegantly decorated rooms before exploring its breath-taking grounds for a relaxing day out.

Sagrada Família, Barcelona

Designed by Spanish architect Antoni Gaudí, the Sagrada Família is not only one of Spain’s most beautiful basilicas, but it’s known the world over for its unusual design which challenges traditional architectural ideas. Just under an hour from La Roca Village, prepare to be spellbound by its towering spires, intricate archways and celestial interior – all of which have been under construction since 1882, and are yet to be completed.
