Embark on a journey of rediscovery with this round-up of exciting Village facts, curated in celebration of our 20th anniversary. How many had you heard of? Did you know...

In 2012, Maasmechelen Village hosted a series of events in parallel with the European Biennial of Contemporary Art, which exhibited works by American artist Mark Gonzales and Dutch artist Florentijn Hofman.

In 2019, Belgian designer Charles Kaisin took over the Village with his ‘Proud to be Belgian’ installation.

In 2014, the Village hosted a Magritte exhibition, inviting guests to discover the world through the eyes of the surrealist artist.

Michael Kors opened its first boutique in the Village in December 2011, and four years later (in September 2015) the brand opened a boutique in its current location.

In June 2013, Michelin-starred Italian restaurant Antica Corte Pallavicina opened a pop-up, Osteria, in the Village.

In October 2011, the Neuhaus boutique opened in the Village and has remained in the same location ever since.

In November 2013, Maasmechelen Village opened a permanent VIP Lounge which is used for special occasions.

One of our first collaborations with Belgian fashion influencer Tiany Kiriloff dates back to April 2015, when fashion website BELMODO and the Village joined forces for the Denim Festival.

In May 2015, leading electric car manufacturer Tesla hosted its Belgian launch in Maasmechelen Village.

In August 2018, Rapha hosted a 450 km bike ride from its Maasmechelen Village boutique, raising £3,000 for the families of children killed in road traffic accidents.
