Cesar Casier’s guide to investment pieces

We invited model Cesar Casier to the Village to curate a series of autumn looks that will stand the test of time. Here, he discusses why he likes his investment pieces the same way he likes his food, and shares his top tips for sourcing your own.

The Belgium-based model, foodie and founder of his own eponymous knitwear brand stands firmly in the belief that high-quality, locally sourced materials are as important within the world of gastronomy as they are within fashion.

I don’t like fast food and I don’t like fast fashion.

Model and foodie

During his recent trip to the Village, to source a new investment piece, Cesar explains that durability and repeat-wearability at the forefront of his search criteria. A pair of jeans and a Bally leather jacket were the first pieces to catch his eye, “The jeans and jacket are really cool – in fact, the whole look is. It feels very ‘me’.” It is however Bally’s Triano bag that he selects as his must-have investment piece.

Made from plain calf leather and featuring two top handles, this timeless bag is equal parts practical and polished. Stamped with the signature Bally logo and featuring a zip closure, lined interior and side pockets, expect to use this accessory for low-key and luxury adventures alike.

When it comes to curating your own collection of investment items, Cesar suggests starting with a bag, a pair of sunglasses and a leather jacket, “They’ll add the finishing touch to just about every outfit.” He enforces that quality is what it comes down to when deciding whether to invest, “The same goes for food; if the quality is great (and so is the taste), it’s worth splashing out on.”
